This policy outlines guidelines regarding Missing Clinical Practice and Laboratory Experience Time. This policy applies to all students completing a course with a clinical practicum or clinical skills lab component.

BSN Professional Conduct Policy
In this document, students find the requirements and guidelines they are expected to observe to meet the BCCNM professional nursing practice standards consistent with the BCCNM requirements of RNs. Valid starting September 2017.

BSN Program Levels of Appeal
This chart describes the process followed by a BSN Program Academic Decision Review. It shows the different options available to students, the different parties involved, and levels of escalation.

Criminal Record Check - BSN Students
This document explains why all BSN students are asked to go through a Criminal Record check. It provides details on how to do it, and includes links to relevant websites. It also outlines the responsibilities of the University on this matter.

Emergency Plan and Procedures

Employed Student Nurse/Health Care Assistant (ESN/HCA) Policy for BSN Program
This policy governs how BSN students can engage with Health Authorities in Employed Student Nurse (ESN) positions. Students are required to adhere to the policy requirements to maintain good standing in the BSN program.

Environment - Fragrances and Chemicals
This policy explains why the School of Nursing requests that all members strive to avoid using scented or aromatic personal products, such as fragrances, body products, air fresheners, or other, while we are at the School.

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy
This policy governs how we use, refer and disseminate personal information at the School of Nursing, adhering to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). All members of the academic community must be familiar with it.

Gift Giving and Receiving
In this document, you will find the view of the School of Nursing, related to the potential conflict of interest when deciding or not to agree for gifts from students, or other engagements.

Grade Assignment Guidelines
This document provides the guidelines followed by faculty to grade work submitted to them, following the assessment and evaluation criteria of specific assignments in the course. It includes Grading Levels and Percentages assigned to them.

Grading of Practice Learning Experiences
This policy offers some insight on how the Clinical Practice Competencies are graded, in light of their own nature and the students' own skill and ability, as well as all circumstances involved in each situation.

Guidelines for Differentiated Time Accommodation for Assessments
This document outlines the understanding of the School with respect to accommodation in the form of extra time during assessment for students in both: Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. It has been approved by UBC Centre for Accessibility.

Meeting Nursing Practice Competencies
This policy offers some insight on the nature of Clinical Practice Competencies, the process to acquire them, and how the School ensures each student is assessed accurately. The Clinical Practice component of any course is graded as Pass or Fail.

Photography in the School of Nursing
The use of photography at the School of Nursing requires careful attention to balance between effective communication and respect of privacy. Students, who do not want their photo taken at the School of Nursing, can fill out the form on this documents.

Plagiarism
In this document, you will find the rationale observed by the School of Nursing that supports the University's view that Plagiarism represents academic misconduct of a serious nature. It outlines Plagiaristic Behaviors and how they are handled at the School.

Professional Appearance for Practice Learning Experiences
This policy provides guidance to present a professional image in the clinical practice setting, based on principles for professionalism, infection control, personal safety and role identification.

Progression and Advancement in the BSN Program
This policy outlines the criteria related to students' progression and advancement in the program. Students will find here the standard practices and considerations related to Academic Standing. Valid starting September 2017.

Request for Missed Clinical Time for Professional Engagement
This document outlines the guiding principles considered to determine Student Eligibility, to request missing clinical time intending to attend Professional Development activities or events, as well as the process of follow.

Requisites for BSN Clinical Practice Education Policy
This document outlines the requisites that are set in accordance with practice-partners regulations and requirements. They must be met prior to entering the clinical sites to ensure patient and student safety. Valid starting September 2017.

Scholarship, Student Loan, and Honors Standing

This policy refers to the Student Accident Insurance coverage that is required to have for students' benefit, when they are performing course work in environments where the risk of injury is greater than a classroom.

Student Injury during Clinical Practice Experience
This policy provides an insight in detail of the process for reporting and follow-up of a student injury that occurs during clinical practice.

Student Injury on UBC Premises Procedures
This policy provides a detailed process for reporting of a student injury that occurs while on the UBC campus premises.

Student Involvement in QA or QI Projects and Research
This document provides background and rationale for the policy that governs Student Involvement in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Projects, particularly in regards to ethical and legal issues associated.

Student Misconduct
This policy refers to student misconduct in professional practice areas or on campus. Students will find here some examples of Student Misconduct and potential consequences, as well as the process followed should such a situation arise.

Student Records
This policy outlines the beliefs of the School of Nursing in terms of rights and responsibilities for students and faculty members, regarding Student Records. How they are kept and how they can be accessed by students.

Student Review of Undergraduate Final Examinations
This document will guide students through the steps followed to request an individual review of examination papers, in adherence to UBC Examination Regulations.

Use of Digital Technology Policy 
This policy sets up obligations for students regarding the use of digital information-sharing technology (including devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptops or other devices) ensuring privacy and confidentiality in their role as health professionals.

Use of Student Work for Teaching and Learning Purposes
This policy refers to cases when faculty may want to use 'well done' work of individual students, as a learning example for other students. The author is asked to sign a Consent Form for the School of Nursing to use Personal Work as a Learning Resource for others.
