The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia - Vancouver campus invites applications for up to two (2) full-time Associate Professor of Teaching positions. We are particularly interested in applicants with educational leadership in high-fidelity simulation and clinical skills lab pedagogy. The anticipated start date for both positions is July 1, 2022 or as soon as feasible thereafter.
The School of Nursing at UBC is the oldest university-based nursing program in Canada, with a global reputation for excellence in research, innovative teaching, and values rooted in health equity, social justice, and community engagement. We offer a full range of nursing degrees, including an intensive upper-division BSN, MN-NP, MSN, MHLP, and PhD degrees. Positions in the Professor of Teaching stream offer a career path based on excellence and innovation in teaching and educational leadership in the intellectually exciting atmosphere of a top-tier School of Nursing. The successful candidates will be expected to be involved in teaching, be highly engaged in educational leadership activities including curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, and other teaching and learning initiatives as well as provide service the University and the academic profession. The successful candidates will possess a track record of curriculum development, pedagogical innovation and excellence in teaching theory, clinical skills, simulation, and/or clinical courses in nursing, and have demonstrated potential for effective educational leadership. Applicants must have earned at least a master’s degree in nursing, although a PhD in nursing is preferred, and must be registered or eligible to be registered as either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Successful applicants will be eligible for tenure at UBC.
