ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - NURSING
RECRUITING FOR AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION
The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia - Vancouver campus invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We are particularly interested in applicants with professional expertise and scholarship in pediatrics, cancer nursing, or mental health nursing, but welcome applicants with relevant professional expertise and scholarship in all areas of nursing. The anticipated start date is between January 1 and July 1, 2024.
The School of Nursing at UBC is the oldest university-based nursing program in Canada. We offer a full range of innovative programs, including an intensive upper-division BSN, MN-NP, MSN, MHLP, and PhD degrees. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent, internationally recognized research program relevant to nursing, to health care practice and/or to policy for people’s health and the future of health care in Canada and beyond. They will teach core and/or elective courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students (both Masters and PhD), and provide service to the University, the School, and to the profession. Applicants must have earned a PhD in nursing or a related discipline, and be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. Successful candidate will demonstrate or show potential for excellence in research and teaching, and would ideally have prior or current clinical practice experience, either as a nurse, or in practice settings that involve nurses.
