About the Study
The long-term care home sector is navigating two urgent priorities in the context of climate change: emergency management during extreme weather events, and building a climate-resilient health care system through environmental sustainability initiatives.
Background
In the Fall of 2025, our team conducted a survey with long-term care home operators in British Columbia, Canada to better understand how they are addressing these challenges.
Webinar
In this one-hour webinar, we will share key findings from the survey and discuss practical recommendations for strengthening climate readiness across the sector, with a focus on affiliated/contracted sites.
Study Team and Funding
Dr. Jennifer Baumbusch from the UBC School of Nursing and Lara Croll from the BC Care Providers Association are the project co-leads. This study was funded by Michael Smith Health Research BC.
