Flexible Learning Team recognized at CNIE Awards

The 2016 CNIE conference was held between May 30 and June 2, 2016 in Waterloo ON (http://cauce-conference.ca/2016/). Namsook Jahng, PhD, attended and received the Excellence and Innovation award on behalf of the Nursing FL Project Team UBC SoN-CTLT.  The School of Nursing members include PI Dr. Maura Macphee, Bernie Garrett, Cathryn Jackson, Khristine Carino, Cathy Ebbehoj, Elsie Tan, Cheryl Segaric, Ranjit Dhari, and Joanne Ricci. The Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE) is a national organization of professionals committed to excellence in the provision of innovation in education in Canada. 

The CNIE-RCÍE Awards recognizes excellence in innovative educational practices in the use of technology to support and advance learning at regional, national, and international levels in a variety of settings. Innovative educational practice can be seen in distance, open distributed, blended, and traditional learning environments and these awards recognizes this diversity. This competition is adjudicated by a committee of professional peers from across Canada.

 "UBC Flexible Learning Initiative: School of Nursing Undergraduate Course Transformation” is the winner for 2016 for Excellence and Innovation in the Integration of Technology in a Formal or Non-Formal Educational Program.  This award recognizes excellence in the design and integration of technology (e.g., video, audio, graphics, animation) in a formal or non-formal educational program.
