Honorary Professor Madeleine Dion Stout receives Order of Canada

25 Feb 2016

The School of Nursing's Honorary Professor Madeleine Dion Stout attended at Rideau Hall on February 12, 2016 to receive Canada's highest honour.  Along with 47 other amazing Canadians, Madeleine was presented with the Order of Canada by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, who, as Governor General, is also the Chancellor and Principal Companion to the Order. Madeleine has been recognized for playing a major role in the development of Aboriginal health care and education. Explore the government's news article at the link below for more photographs, the speech, and brief bios of Canada's newest members of the Order.  We are enormously proud of Madeleine's achievements and cherish her ongoing association with the School of Nursing.  We are told that this honour represents a threshold in the recipient's career, and so we can look forward to many more years of leadership and nursing breakthroughs from our friend and colleague.

Congratulations Madeleine!
