## Area of Research

#### Research Interests

An important career objective for me is to develop a robust research program focusing on promoting health and reducing disease and injury in the pediatric neurology population. As a specific interest within that I aim to measure the impact of neurological disorders on children and youth, their families, and the health care system. My vision is that more knowledge in this area produce clinical, community and health systems interventions to close the gap that currently exists, decrease health inequities, and improve overall health and wellbeing of children and youth.

#### Teaching Interests

My teaching focuses on infant, child, and youth health. As a practicing Registered Nurse, I utilize my clinical knowledge and experience, more precisely in Outpatient Neurology, to draw on tangible examples for teaching theory. My goal is to bring real-life examples but also use students’ lived experiences into the classroom to spark their interest in this important aspect of the lifespan.
