Service

As a Senior Practice Leader-Perinatal, my clinical responsibilities include coordinating the advanced care planning for the most complex childbearing families. My role includes supporting nurses to advance their practice through educational offerings on Evidence-Based Practice. I liase with Physicians, Midwives, Nurses, Clinical Educators, Program Coordinators and Program Directors on aspects of advanced clinical care in the Acute Perinatal Programs at BC Women’s (Diagnostic/Ambulatory, High Risk Antepartum/Postpartum, and Birthing). I support system wide practice changes to achieve implementation of best practices.

Completed Projects

I am currently developing a 4 hour course for nurses at BC Women’s on Evidence-Based Practice, and have been involved in our "Best Practices" project at BC Women’s. I also currently teach a 4 hour workshop on normal labour and birth with a multidisciplinary team for 3rd year medical students, nursing and midwifery students.

I am an advanced practice nurse responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating clinical care of childbearing women, families and/or neonates with complex needs. My scope of practice includes consultation, education, research, and administration.
