By looking beyond borders and forming strategic partnerships with nursing schools around the world, UBC Nursing shares knowledge to enhance the nursing profession and improve health standards. These partnerships are designed to improve nursing education, practice and research overseas and at home, and promote international relationships.
Examples of current partnerships include:

The two Schools jointly established the CUHK-UBC International Centre on Nursing Leadership (CUHK-UBC ICNL) to serve be a learning hub for evidence-based management and leadership practice; a forum to debate and to exchange knowledge and professional experiences; and a knowledge network for local, national and international practice, education and research collaborations related to nursing leadership development.
University of Sao Paulo at Ribeirao Preto College of Nursing – Grand Challenges in Global Health
International Consultants: Dr. Fay Warnock and Dr. Suzanne Campbell
The Brazilian Government and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation provided competitive funding for this two-year international nursing collaboration between nurse clinicians and researchers from Brazil, Canada and Norway.
The two-fold aims are to promote the clinical uptake of the newly developed neo-Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (specially developed to promote exclusive breastfeeding in the pre-term) in five neonatal units in Brazil and test their effectiveness in increasing breastfeeding rates and reducing mortality and morbidity outcomes.
