Pamela Ratner

Bio

Pamela Ratner, Professor Emeritus, joined the School of Nursing in 1996. She was promoted to professor in 2004 and subsequently became the Senior Associate Dean, Administration & Innovation, for the Faculty of Education. In 2015, she became the university’s Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Faculty Planning. Professor Ratner retired in 2023. She currently serves as a UBC Board of Governors’ appointed Trustee of the UBC Faculty Pension Plan.

Area of Research

Research Interests

Professor Ratner’s research, based in computational socio-behavioural epidemiology and psychometrics, primarily focuses on heart health and behaviour associated with cardiovascular disease. She is particularly interested in latent variable modelling as a means of testing health behaviour theory and evaluating health outcomes measurement.
