An overview of undergraduate nursing curriculum redesign at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia. Examples of QUT flexible learning strategies, such as “Nearpod” will be covered in this presentation.
Dr. Karen Theobald is the Director of Academic Programs in the School of Nursing, Queensland University of Technology. Karen was appointed to this role in January 2015 and is responsible for providing leadership for the School’s learning and teaching activities and collaborating with the Faculty of Health’s learning and teaching leadership team in the development and implementation of the Faculty’s learning and teaching plan. Karen has assumed the position of Postgraduate Course Coordinator and continues to demonstrate leadership and expertise in teaching and learning across the Postgraduate emergency nursing study area, as the Postgraduate Study Area Coordinator for Emergency Nursing. Her clinical background is in acute cardiac care and presently she is the Deputy Chair of the Australian Resuscitation Council, Queensland Branch. Karen has extensive experience in teaching and coordinating units across the QUT’s undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs in the School of Nursing.
