The Alzheimer Society of Canada presents an upcoming talk on air pollution and dementia, which is an even more urgent topic now in light of Canada’s record wildfire season this summer.
Speakers include:
- Dr. Ryan Allen, a professor at Simon Fraser University who researches environmental health, air pollution, and exposure assessment, among other topics
- Dr. Sandi Azab, a research associate academic at McMaster University who is currently investigating the effect of air pollution on cognitive function scores and vascular brain injury
- Dr. Jennifer Baumbusch, a Nursing professor at the University of British Columbia who researches health-care delivery with older adults; she has presented recently on climate emergencies and people living with dementia
- Dr. Amanda Giang, an assistant professor in the Institute for Resources, Environment & Sustainability and Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia; her research includes developing better methods for assessing and addressing pollution and environmental injustice
