Program Time Commitment
The time commitment for mentors is not carved in stone. We generally envision that mentors might commit an hour of time every couple of months for 6 months to one year, but appreciate that each pair will find their own best arrangement.
How will I be selected for this program?
While prior participation and involvement in the program is a benefit, mentor selection will be guided upon the career interests and industry preferences of the mentees.
What is the matching process between mentors and mentees?
We believe that student mentees can learn a significant amount from mentors, regardless of their career interests. While the matches between mentors and mentees combine factors such as career or field of interest and match suitability, other factors such as learning objectives and personal interests are also taken into consideration to complete the matching process.
What kind of support will I receive during the program?
Throughout the mentorship program, the mentorship program coordinators will be available to assist you through the mentoring relationship and respond to your questions and concerns. Email: alumni.mentoring@nursing.ubc.ca
Will I have more than one mentee?
The mentoring program only matches mentors to one mentee at a time. This will enable you to focus specifically on that partnership.
