Jasjit Gill has been a gerontological nurse for the about 30 years. Her love for LTC and working with older adults is to do whatever she can to provide the best care for each person the way they prefer it. This is satisfying & rewarding for her, knowing that she makes someone’s day. Her positive disposition drives her to spread positivity wherever possible.
Her nursing experiences encompass working in multiple LTC homes from 1993 to 2009, where she held positions as a staff nurse, Resident Care Coordinator, and RAI-LTC clinical lead. In 2009, she joined the Regional LTC and AL professional practice team as the Education Coordinator. By 2013, she transitioned into the role of Regional Initiatives Lead for the Dementia Care Strategy in LTC. Over the years until 2019, she actively engaged in various regional initiatives focused on enhancing LTC living. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was deployed to numerous LTC areas to support teams and care homes in their battle against the virus. She received immense love during this challenging time and discovered her longing for connections with residents, families, and staff. In 2021, she became the Clinical Operations Supervisor at Minoru Residence, a long-term care home owned and operated by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in Richmond, BC.
Since 2022, she has taken on the role of Operations Initiative Lead at Minoru Residence. In this capacity, she takes the initiative, actively participates, and contributes to initiatives that have a positive impact on the well-being of staff, families, and residents, ultimately enhancing their quality of life. She relishes this role as it provides her with the opportunity to influence changes that align with individuals' desires for happiness and satisfaction in their home.
