Bio
Prab is a Registered Nurse and holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing withfocus in Clinical Education and Advanced Practice Nursing from UBC. Prab is a qualified clinical informatics leader with extensive knowledge and lived experience in implementing electronic health record. She worked in clinical roles for eight years, before moving into more progressive senior leadership roles. Prab is skilled in Clinical Informatics, Professional Practice, Quality and Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, Accreditation, Clinical Education, Change Management, Systems Improvement and Project Management. She has led many quality improvement, process improvement and accreditation related projects. She holds certification with HIMSS and Digital Health Canada as a Certified Professional in Health Information Management (CPHIMS and CPHIMS-CA).
She is currently working as a Chief Clinical Information Officer within the Quality, Patient Safety, Professional Practice and Clinical Informatics (QPCI) Department at Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). In this role, she works very closely with senior leaders across PHSA to help develop organizational level clinical informatics governance and capability as well as represent informatics needs more broadly across other health organizations and throughout the province. She works to align and mature clinical informatics capabilities within the team and strengthen clinical-IT partnership, supports the vision for health information technologies, and also supports the constantly evolving needs of healthcare providers.
