Bio
Ms. Raluca Radu is a faculty lecturer in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She has demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership skills that she is fond to bring to this role. She has worked in both the public and private sectors as a clinical resource surgical nurse as well as in occupational health and safety locally and for a short duration in Northern British Columbia. Along her career, Ms. Radu held diverse nursing educator and mentorship roles that fuelled her passion to pursue the field of education and which motivate her daily to contribute to developing the next generation of nurses. Ms. Radu values a learning environment conducive of positive behaviours as one that is inviting, safe to participate in, and a key determinant of success in education.
Ms. Radu focused her graduate studies on integrating Climate Change into Nursing Education. She created a tool that can be used by educators in both clinical and university settings to teach an introductory level session on climate change and health, with specific links to nursing practice. This Educational Tool on Climate Change and Nursing Education is available for download at: https://open.library.ubc.ca/cIRcle/collections/graduateresearch/42591/items/1.0388735
