Bio
Dr. Lauck focuses on the delivery of health services to support the implementation of innovative approaches to cardiac disease, and the study of patients’ experiences of minimally invasive treatment of valvular heart disease. She is interested in the integration of geriatric best practices in the delivery of cardiac care. She is committed to linking clinical practice, policy and scholarship through an active engagement with patients, clinicians, researchers, and government organizations, especially as she holds the St. Paul’s Hospital and Heart & Stroke Professorship at UBC.

Research Interests
Dr. Sandra Lauck combines her responsibilities as clinical nurse specialist of the Transcatheter Heart Valve program at St. Paul’s Hospital and her clinical leadership of the BC Structural Heart Program in her role as Clinician Scientist at the Centre for Heart Valve Innovation. Her program of research is focused on the delivery of health services to support the implementation of innovative approaches to cardiac disease, and the study of patients’ experiences of minimally invasive treatment of valvular heart disease. In addition, Sandra is interested in the integration of geriatric best practices in the delivery of cardiac care. She is committed to linking clinical practice, policy and scholarship through an active engagement with patients, clinicians, researchers, and government organizations.

Dr. Sandra Lauck holds various roles in clinical practice, provincial cardiac policy and research. In these capacities, her focus is on supporting the implementation and evaluation of new treatment options and health services. Her teaching interests are primarily focused on supporting graduate students in the pursuit of research projects that will inform practice and policy. She occasionally lectures on topics related to her clinical, research or policy expertise.
