Sue Foster

Bio

Sue Foster is a faculty member - Lecturer and Clinical Instructor in the BSN program; as well as, a UBC School of Nursing Alumni since 1992, obtaining both her BSN and MSN from UBC. Sue’s most recent clinical practice has been in the arena of Public Health Nursing, focussing on the Child and Youth populations; with a strong interest in advocating for and empowering youth in accessing youth friendly health care services. Sue also has a background in acute care, during the late 1980s – early 1990s, at St. Paul’s Hospital. Her research work with the North Shore Public Health team and Dr. Elizabeth Saewyc measuring Public Health Nurses practice and presences in schools and the utilization of the Minnesota Model, Wheel of Intervention; resulted in the adoption of the Minnesota Model, as the Regional Public Health Nursing Model for VCH. Sue is also a recipient of the UBC School of Nursing, Centenary Medal of Distinction, May 2019.
