How are classes structured?
Each package offer two courses each. The courses include lectures, workshops, project work, field excursions, group discussions and special guest speakers. The content covered in the different packages is similar to coursework covered to courses offered to UBC students. Please see course descriptions for referenced relevant courses. However, these packaged courses do not translate exactly into the content covered in the courses due to its condensed format.
Who can apply/participate?
International students from various disciplines are welcome to apply. No prerequisites are required; however, participants must meet their institution’s requirements for studying abroad, be proficient in English, have a strong academic background, and be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the session. We look forward to sharing with you our commitment to health education, research, and practice at UBC School of Nursing!
Does UBC offer financial aid or scholarships for the program?
UBC does not currently offer financial aid or scholarships for the Vancouver Summer Program. Some home universities provide financial assistance, so please check with your home university before applying.
What kind of support and activities are available to students?
Instructors and teaching assistants are committed to providing a supportive learning environment for students. During the program, instructors provide academic support in class and by email. You will also have access to our social excursions led by our Student Cultural Ambassadors. They are current UBC Students organizing and assisting in the Vancouver Summer Program and your local guide to UBC and Vancouver. Social and cultural activities are a great opportunity to make friends with other VSP students from around the world, as well as local UBC students! Additionally, these activities are opportunity to learn more about Vancouver and Canadian culture.

Yes, you will be able to connect to the UBC WiFi network using your designated student Campus-Wide Login.
