Q: If I'm a UBC Student, do I need to receive transfer credit as part of my degree for the HAP course I'm taking at another institution?
A: No, to gain eligibility to the BSN Program you do not need to have completed the Human Anatomy & Physiology (HAP) Course as part of your current degree.
While BIOL 155 (2020W Session offering & beyond) is the required prerequisite that satisfies the 6 credit HAP requirement to be eligible to apply to the BSN Program, we recognize this is a popular course, and not all UBC students will be able to gain access if it is not already a part of their degree. This is why we've created the list of approved HAP Courses for you to review.
As long as you:
- take the courses listed on this list (in the combinations listed on this list)
- are able to provide interim Official Transcripts from the institution you took the course at by the Interim Official Transcript Deadline
- and are able to provide official transcripts showing your final grade from the institution you took the course at by the Final Official Transcript Deadline
You will successfully meet the HAP requirement to gain eligibility for BSN Program Admissions.
Whether or not you are able to get transfer credit for the courses you are taking to satisfy the BSN Program Application HAP prerequisite is not up to the School of Nursing - for that you will need to consult with your home Faculty Advising Office.
