Globally, the burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) related morbidity and mortality in postpartum women has increased. Women who experience adverse pregnancy outcomes have an increased lifelong risk of developing CVD. Yet, CVD amongst postpartum women remains under-studied, under-screened, and under-diagnosed. Early diagnostic testing and risk-based recommendations are required to combat the increasing trend.
Dr Dev is an assistant professor in the UBC School of Nursing, a CHSPR faculty member, and a global women’s health researcher. Her research aims to improve women’s health globally through capacity building, collaboration, and health system strengthening. She is committed to improving the health of women nationally and internationally.
Register in advance for this seminar. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. A light lunch will be provided for in-person registrants.
