Senior Teaching Assistant
Eligibility
Must be registered as a full-time student in PhD program at the UBC School of Nursing (SoN)
Must be currently employed as a teaching assistant (TA) by the UBC SoN and prefer one year of related TA or other teaching experience in the past
Commitment
Sept 1 2022 to April 30, 2023
Required Skills
Proficiency with basic computer software (word processing, excel)
Excellent communication and organization skills (verbal and written)
Duties
Provide continuous leadership and mentorship to TAs
Attend 1-day mentorship workshop delivered by CTLT
Facilitate, deliver, and evaluate TA training program
Co-ordinate TA evaluations
Maintain ongoing communication with (SoN) AD of Graduate Programs
Coordinate with faculty liaison to support TA development, workshops, and engagement
Serve as contact person for Canadian Union Of Public Employees Local 2278 (CUPE2278) in the (SoN)
Attend APSC Health and Safety committee meetings
Work with (SoN) AD of Graduate Programs and Manager, Operations & Finance regarding the funding and management of resources available for the TA Training Program.
Estimated hours of work 20-40 hours/term
Salary
Please be advised that TAs at UBC are represented by CUPE 2278 and that a Collective Agreement between UBC and CUPE 2278 is in effect.
