Dr. Margaret Moss has been named to a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (National Academies) study committee for the Review of Federal Policies that Contribute to Racial and Ethnic Health Inequities.
I am thrilled to be named to this committee. It is especially apropos for Indigenous populations in US.
Dr. Moss will be assisting the committee with providing an evidence-based, independent and objective analysis of federal policies that contribute to racial and ethnic health inequities, including those policies that impact the social determinants of health, as well as potential solutions. The review should focus on all racial and ethnic minority populations in the U.S, and the analysis should identify the most effective or promising strategies to eliminate or modify policies to advance racial and ethnic health equity. The National Academies’ committee will develop a report with conclusions and recommendations. Recommendations may include, but are not limited to, policy and budget considerations.
