Why:
Safety concerns in Vancouver’s sex worker community are increasing with several recent funding cuts to core service. Those lack of community supports are amplified as Vancouver gets ready to host a large influx of tourists for an international sports event (FIFA). To address this deficit, a group of local sex workers and community workers, Sex Workers Interrupting FIFA Atrocities (SWIFA) will provide mutual aid including a drop-in safe space and supplies during the FIFA period.
