Where I can find UBC School of Nursing policies and procedures?
The UBC School of Nursing Policies and other information are available under the “Current Students” section of the website.
Where is the Lost and Found?
General items left in the lab or classrooms will be moved to the Nursing Lounge (T252).
Electronics and other valuable items left in the lab will be kept at T168 by the CSL team until claimed. If left in classrooms, administration reception at room T201 will hold until claimed.
Unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of at the end of the year.
Where should I have my referees send their references for me.
Please have your referees send their references via the online link that they had received when you submitted your application. Eacg referee has the option of using the template that is sent to them from UBC, or uploading a reference of their own.
Who can I contact in case of course-related issues?
Take questions and concerns about specific course issues to the course leader. If the issues have not been resolved or cannot be addressed directly, you can contact the appropriate level coordinator.
If you are experiencing academic difficulties contact the BSN Program Student Academic Advisor.
Who can I speak to if I have questions about study and work permits as an international student?
Please contact an International Student Advisor at International House / Go Global.

Who do I contact when I need help?
To find out where you can access help for questions related to courses, the BSN Program, Student Services (both UBC & School of Nursing), and any other questions you may have please review the Lines of Communication Flow Chart.
Why am I having trouble registering for a graduate NURS course?
There are several potential reasons that you are not able to register. Please review the points below to see if one of them may apply to your situation.
- Check to ensure that you have selected the correct session. There is a drop down menu in SSC to select "2015 Summer" or "2015 Winter".
- Do you have any outstanding fees that need to be paid? There may be a financial hold on your account. You can check this under "Financial Summary" in SSC.
- Some courses have restrictions to reserve seats for students in certain programs. You can view the restrictions on the course page in the UBC Course Schedule under "Restricted Seats". If you still have questions or need assistance, please contact student.services@nursing.ubc.ca.
Why are there two separate deadlines for application material?
We ask you that you submit your application by the application deadline. All supplemental documentation must be received by the supplementary deadline.
Why is a course shown as “blocked”?
This is the message that appears when a department has removed student access to the course since it has reached its initial registration limit. Please contact student.services@nursing.ubc.ca for assistance.
Why is a graduate course shown as "restricted"?
Some courses have restrictions to reserve seats for students in certain programs. You can view the restrictions on the course page in the UBC Course Schedule under "Restricted Seats". For example, a course may have 15 seats restricted for MSN students and 15 seats restricted for MN students. If you are an MSN student and all 15 MSN restricted seats are full, you will not be able to register for the course and you will need to go on the waitlist.
