How is the BSN Program Structured?
To make the most of your program we strongly encourage you to consult the Program Overview and Course Descriptions.
How long can I work as an ESN?
Your ESN hours must be completed before the start of Preceptorship, i.e., Term 5 practice NURS 427.
How many applications does the School receive each year?
We receive approximately 700 applications each year.
How many students are accepted?
The School expects to admit 120 students per year each September.
How much is tuition for the Undergraduate Program?
Undergraduate tuition fees can be found on the Vancouver Academic Calendar

How to obtain a UBC Hosted Email address?
The UBC Student Email Service is an optional combination of email aliasing and UBC hosted mailbox. Users of this service can obtain a UBC email address, cwl@student.ubc.ca
Please note, it is now required that all BSN Students use the UBC provided email service as their primary mode of communication with UBC, the School of Nursing, and the BSN Program. This requirement has been put into place as of August 2014 to comply with requirements placed by the Health Authorities for facilitating clinical practice placements.
The forwarding service is not an option for BSN Students, as built in SPAM filters block group communications through HSPnet & Health Authority sites.

How will my applied degree be evaluated?
Due to their vocational focus, applied degrees will be considered on case-by-case basis. The Admissions Office will evaluate the coursework completed in the applied degree on a course-by-course basis to ensure that the 48-transferable credit requirement is met.
How would I find out if the courses I took at another college or university are transferable to UBC?
The BC Transfer Guide provides comprehensive information about transfer credit for courses taken mainly in BC (some of the courses completed outside of BC and internationally are also listed). Courses taken outside of BC will be assessed on an individual basis after an applicant has formally applied to UBC and submitted all required documents. However, UBC Student Services has been developing UBC Transfer Credit Search. It may give you some information.
I have checked the Human Anatomy and Physiology Approved course list, but the human anatomy and physiology course I completed is not on the list. What should I do?
You will have to submit a PLAR application to have the human anatomy and physiology course(s) reviewed.
Please refer to the "Human Anatomy and Physiology Prerequisite - PLAR Assessment and Application" section of the Admissions website for instructions on how to submit a PLAR application.
I have checked the table with the English course equivalents, but the English course I completed is not on the list. Do I have to take another English course?
If you completed a first year (or higher level) university transfer English composition course at a North American post-secondary accredited institution, you do not have to take another English course.
